Litchfield Country Club Bathroom Design

Updated: Nov 4, 2023

The holidays are almost here and the design work for this project is near completion! This major bath and closet renovation is a stunning example of a well designed space planned out ahead of time. With demo scheduled for January, we are putting on the final touches of selecting cabinet hardware and decorative light fixtures.

Equally important, we are also waiting to get back all the numbers for cabinets, tile and countertops to make sure we stay within budget. It's not unusual for things to have to get tweaked, so I am eager to see where we are.

This project ya'll is a MAJOR TRANSFORMATION! I know I say that about all of them, but the before and after of just the layout along is exceptional. Here is the "before" floorplan of how the bathroom and multiple closets are currently arranged. With so many walls underneath the 10' ceiling, they block most of the natural light coming up in from the windows.

BEFORE

When I met with the homeowner for this project, here was her wishlist :)

  • Light & Airy Space

  • His & Hers Vanity

  • Walk in Shower with Bench

  • Soaking tub

  • Washer & Dryer

  • Linen Storage

  • Double Door entrance

  • Large Walk in Closet

I had a great time playing with the layout and here is the new and improved open concept plan.

On the left side is a large walk in closet and to the right is the new bathroom plan. The double vanity is centered under a beautiful arched window and the oversized shower includes dual shower heads with a bench seat. The soaker tub sits next to a knee or half height wall and a fun light fixture will hang in the center of the room.

AFTER

Pocket doors were chosen for most locations to be out of the way with the exception of the linen closet and laundry closet. One of my favorite features is the double door entry way from the master bedroom into the bathroom which will featured an arched opening to mimic the vanity window. Here are some 2D wall elevations:

Elevations are so helpful to see how each wall in a newly designed space will look. 3D renderings are even better and I'll share those once they are complete! Hope you enjoyed this months project feature and newsletter.

Thanks for being here!
